Oats with milk for cough is an effective folk medicine that will help out with pneumonia, bronchitis, laryngitis, sore throat. Suitable for all ages. Oats will help reduce fever, and hot milk will help soften dry coughs.

Other ingredients are often added to the medicinal drink, such as raisins, honey, raspberries, pepper, lemon. Oats are also cooked on the basis of water, this does not reduce its healing properties. But the combination of cereal with milk and honey enhances the therapeutic effect of dry cough and helps to cope with the disease sooner.

Recipes:

  • Unpeeled oats in a thermos with milk. Boil 500 ml of milk, wash 500 g of oats and immerse everything in a thermos. Insist the medicine with oats for at least 5 hours. Before taking it, you must strain and drink 100 ml in several doses during the day.
  • Oat milk. Fill a full 0.5 liter jar with oat grains and pour into a container for a water bath. Pour in 2 liters of milk and heat for at least 3 hours. Strain the finished broth and take half a glass every 3 hours on an empty stomach, not earlier than 2-3 hours after eating.
  • Oats with milk - recipe for coughing in the oven. Place 2 liters of milk and 500 g of oat grains in a cast iron or any refractory dish and bake in the oven at the same temperature for 2-3 hours. The consistency should be viscous. After cooking, you do not need to take out the medicine immediately, you need to let it brew until the oven cools completely. Strain and store the broth in a sealed container in a cold place. When consumed, you can add honey or any berries.
  • Straw tincture. Pour 40 g of oat straw into 1 liter of boiled water and let it brew for about 2 hours. Strain the tincture and take 100 grams 3 times a day. This remedy is effective not only for coughing, but also for fever.
  • Oats with raisins. Pour in 2 tablespoons. tablespoons of oats and 2 tbsp. tablespoons of raisins 1.5 liters of cold water. Simmer in the oven at a low temperature until the liquid evaporates by half. Cool and strain the broth, add 1 tablespoon of honey and take 1 tablespoon several times a day for painful coughing attacks.
  • Flu medicine. Combine 1 cup of whole grain oats with 1 L of water and let sit for 8 hours. Then place the pot on the stove and heat it over low heat for 20 minutes. The broth must be drained and taken at 2 tablespoons per hour during the day. Store the medicine in a thermos.
  • Remedy for pneumonia. Chop 1 head of garlic. Place 1 cup of oats, 2 liters of milk and minced garlic in a saucepan for the oven. Simmer for 2 hours in the oven, strain the broth. Drink 1 glass in the morning and in the evening.

Oat milk and oat water can be combined with other medicinal herbal infusions that are designed to fight inflammation, soften coughs, and remove phlegm. Thus, the well-known licorice root can be used alone or in combination with oat broths. The combination of licorice and oats is especially widely used in children with bronchitis.

Peppermint will give oat milk a pleasant aroma, its antispasmodic properties will reduce the risk of suffocation during coughing attacks and relieve the headache that usually accompanies all colds.

Recipes for kids

  1. Steam oats in 1/1 water over low heat for 2 hours. It is necessary to strain and give the child a warm drink, adding a spoonful of honey, 1/2 cup in the morning half an hour before meals and in the evening 2 hours after dinner.
  2. Boil oat grains (1 cup of grains in 1 cup of water) for 15 minutes, drain. Take 3 times daily after meals.
  3. Pour 1 cup of whole grain unpeeled oats with 1 liter of milk and simmer over low heat for 1.5 hours. The milk should evaporate and turn a light brown color. Filter through a strainer and give the child 1-2 tbsp warm. spoons. Adult dosage is 1/2 cup.
  4. Pour 100 g of oats with 2 liters of milk and add 5-8 crushed garlic cloves. Simmer in the oven in a refractory dish for 2-2.5 hours. Cool, strain and take 1/2 cup at night. The adult dose is 1 glass.

Contraindications

Oats are hypoallergenic, but like any herbal medicine, they can cause a number of side effects, such as overdose headaches. Therefore, take precautions:

  • in case of individual intolerance to one of the components of the drug, you must refuse to take it;
