Application methods

Fir oil can be used both externally and internally. The drug is very quickly absorbed into the bloodstream after oral administration and acts directly on the foci of infection. Also, the product is well absorbed through the skin and effectively acts on the respiratory tract through the mucous membranes. The variety of methods of its use will allow each patient to choose the most suitable therapy. Consider what effective recipes can help cure your cough.

  1. Baths. You can take a bath with fir oil only if there is no increased body temperature. To prepare the medicinal mixture, you need to take 550 ml of water and pour it into an enamel saucepan, put on fire and bring to a boil. Then add 300 g of baby soap grated on a fine grater and cook, stirring occasionally, until completely dissolved. We remove from the stove, add 0.5 l of fir oil to the composition and pour the mixture into bottles, which must be tightly closed with lids so that the valuable components do not evaporate. When you need to prepare a bath, we collect 160-200 liters of water, its temperature should be at least 39ᵒ С. We lie calmly in warm water for no more than 20 minutes. After the procedure, we do not wipe off with a towel, but only gently blot the water and immediately lie down under a warm blanket.
  2. Inhalation. With the help of inhalation, bronchitis and pneumonia can be cured. It is worth purchasing a special device for steam inhalation at the pharmacy, but if this is not possible, you can replace the device with improvised means. Take a basin or pot of hot water, add 4-5 drops of oil to the liquid, cover with a thick cloth, close your eyes and breathe in the steam through your nose and mouth. If you feel like clearing your throat, do it. Bronchospasm is a good sign: the phlegm drains and clears the airways. You can also use a ceramic kettle for the procedure. Pour boiling water into it, add oil, twist a funnel out of paper and insert into a spout. Breathe through the funnel until the water cools. Already after 2-3 days, you will notice relief if you breathe therapeutic vapors 2 times a day.
  3. Dry inhalation. For those who do not like steam inhalations, dry ones can be carried out. The volatile components of fir oil will have an excellent effect on the respiratory tract if the agent is applied to a cloth and placed next to the patient. This can make breathing easier and help relieve dry coughs.
  4. Disinfection of the premises. It has been proven that fir oil can replace silica, it perfectly cleans the room from viruses and bacteria, which is simply necessary when a person is sick. To prepare a disinfectant solution, take an aroma lamp, pour a teaspoon of water into it and add 3 drops of the product. After applying the oil, there will be a pleasant pine aroma in the room, and there will be no trace of harmful microorganisms.
  5. Cough cocktail. Mix in one glass any unsweetened natural juice (we don't use citrus, it irritates the mucous membranes), a few drops of oil and a teaspoon of honey. You need to drink the medicine 1.5 hours after a meal or 1 hour before a meal 3 times a day.
  6. Treatment of sore throat. If you are suffering from dryness and sore throat, then the tonsils should be treated with fir oil. To carry out the procedure, squeeze a cotton swab with a special clip or tweezers, dip it in oil and treat your throat well. You may feel a burning sensation right away, but after 10 minutes you will feel significant relief.
  7. Help with bronchospasm. To stop an attack of dry, tearful cough, it is enough to drop the remedy on the root of the tongue. It is advisable to dilute it with some vegetable oil, such as olive oil.
  8. Rubbing. Using fir oil for massage is very beneficial as it has warming properties and stimulates blood circulation. We mix the product with vegetable oil, apply with intense movements on the feet, back and chest, then put on warm underwear and socks, wrap ourselves in a blanket.

Precautions and contraindications

Fir oil contains a large amount of biologically active components, so it can cause an inadequate response of the body or complications of certain diseases. Because of the pungent odor, some patients will not be able to use it for treatment. The drug is completely incompatible with ethyl alcohol; during the period of treatment, you must not drink alcohol. It is forbidden to use the remedy in such cases:
