How to clear the throat of mucus with folk remedies?

The appearance of sputum in the oropharynx indicates the development of a disease of an inflammatory or non-inflammatory nature. Before starting treatment, it is necessary to establish the cause of the onset of clinical symptoms.

When mucus in the throat is worried, treatment with folk remedies can only be used with the permission of a doctor. Inappropriate treatment can lead to complications. You can get rid of mucus, phlegm in the throat by rinsing the oropharynx. During the procedure, you should follow some rules:

  • The solution water should not be hot. The optimum temperature is no higher than 35 degrees. One glass of water is enough for one session.
  • Most solutions are prepared immediately before use. This allows you to have a therapeutic effect on the affected mucous membrane of the oropharynx in maximum force.
  • During the procedure, you should take a solution with a volume of one large sip into your mouth, tilt your head back and pronounce the sound "Y". This position allows you to increase the area of ​​effect of the drug on the affected mucous membrane of the pharynx.

A solution of salt, soda. The most common method of alternative treatment is soda-salt solution. Its effect is due to the antiseptic effect of drugs. For cooking, you need to mix the components in the amount of one tablespoon, add them to a mug of boiled water. Next, mix thoroughly to completely dissolve the ingredients.

To enhance the therapeutic effect, you can add iodine (a couple of drops). In addition to the antimicrobial effect, regeneration and healing are accelerated. The procedure is repeated three times a day.

Herbal solutions are widely used in the treatment of otolaryngology diseases. For preparation, calendula, eucalyptus leaves, chamomile flowers, pine, oak bark are used. To prepare a medicinal solution, you need to brew 15 g of one of the listed plants by simmering in a water bath / low heat for a quarter of an hour. As soon as the broth cools down, it must be filtered, used for rinsing several times daily.

Ginger for phlegm in the throat

Thanks to the use of ginger, the treatment period for colds, immunodeficiency, and pathology of the respiratory system is significantly reduced. The therapeutic effect is due to strong antimicrobial properties, which, in combination with the anti-inflammatory effect, leads to a decrease in mucus production.

  1. To make a healing drink, you need cloves, cinnamon extract, and chopped ginger. Each ingredient is taken in a volume of 10 g, mixed, covered with 250 ml boiling water. As soon as the infusion cools down to 40 degrees, add honey, lemon juice (15 ml each). The medicine is taken three times a day, 100 ml.
  2. For oral administration, you can prepare a decoction of white pepper, ginger powder, licorice root, sugar. Having collected 10 g of each ingredient, they are mixed, covered with 250 ml boiling water. After boiling this product, you need to add 5-10 ml of honey. Drink warm up to 5 times daily. This will reduce the secretion of mucus, remove infectious pathogens.
  3. An effective combination is a combination of milk, honey, ginger. The recipe requires 250 ml of milk, 10 g of chopped ginger, 15 g of turmeric. Having boiled milk with these components, it is necessary to cool to room temperature, add about 40 grams of honey. Take about 700 ml in small sips.
  4. For this recipe, you need a fresh ginger root weighing 20 g, about 35 g of green tea, a couple of mint twigs, 350 ml of water. Ginger should be finely chopped, covered with boiling water, and brought to a boil. Green tea (tea leaves), mint are added to the broth. The medicine is taken warm, dividing the entire volume in half.

Radish recipes

The healing properties of radish have been used since ancient times, because the root vegetable has a powerful antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory effect, and has a lot of useful substances. The most powerful remedy is black radish juice, but the green, white appearance also has medicinal properties. Black radish contains iron, magnesium, potassium, lysozyme, vitamins of group B, C, enzymes, phytoncides, calcium. The medicine stimulates sputum discharge, reduces its viscosity, destroys pathogens.

In children, radish is widely used after the age of 1 year. Sometimes the green variety is preferred due to its milder antibacterial effect.

Among the contraindications, it is worth highlighting inflammation of the gastric mucosa, intestinal ulcer, pancreatitis, and severe pathology of the thyroid gland.

Radish is especially useful for beginning bronchitis, when the inflammatory process spreads from the pharynx to the larynx, trachea, bronchi. To prepare a radish you need:

  • clean the root crop of dirt, wash it under water;
  • cut off the tail, cut off the top (it will come in handy a little later);
  • the core of the radish should be carefully removed with a spoon, a spoon;
  • put honey in the resulting depression, cover with the cut top on top;
  • it is recommended to leave the drug overnight, but the juice can be obtained after 4-5 hours;
  • the resulting juice must be collected in a separate container, take 15 ml each half an hour after a meal.

Another remedy is prepared as follows. The root crop is peeled, crushed with a grater, the juice is squeezed out through several layers of gauze. 10 g of honey is added to the juice, after which it is necessary to expect its complete dissolution. Thanks to honey, the taste of the radish becomes more pleasant, so children do not refuse to take the medicine. The child is allowed to give no more than 5 ml of the drug 5 times a day.

The green variety is sometimes allowed for children under one year old (with the permission of the pediatrician). A medium-sized root vegetable is peeled, cut into cubes, collected in a jar, where 30 g of honey is added. After covering with a lid, you should wait 5-6 hours.

Green radish juice can be used with milk in a warm ratio (1:30) with the addition of raspberry jam. Pure juice can also be used to rub the chest, after which a warm cloth is wrapped around the chest.

The white root vegetable is used for children under one year old, as it is even more tender than green. The root vegetable is distinguished by a high content of ascorbic acid, essential oils, puric acids.

  • The radish is washed, crushed with a grater, the juice is squeezed out with gauze, 30 g of honey is added. Give the child 5 ml of medication.
  • The root vegetable can be cut into cubes, covered with sugar in a saucepan, covered, and baked for about 2 hours. After cooling, it is necessary to filter the juice, discard the pulp. Take 15 ml three times a day.

Onion broth

The healing properties of onions have long been known. It is famous for its powerful antibacterial properties thanks to the phytoncides found in vegetables. A few medium-sized bulbs are sufficient to prepare a potent infection-fighting medicine.

The vegetable is peeled, finely chopped, covered with water in a saucepan, and then put on gas. After waiting for the water to boil, reduce the heat, cook for about an hour. After cooling the remedy a little, add sugar to taste. Take 50 ml three times a day.

Herbs, juices

To quickly remove mucus from the throat, it is necessary to apply a comprehensive treatment.

  1. An inflamed lesion in the mucous membrane of the pharynx can be lubricated with a mixture of peach oil, alcohol tincture of propolis. To prepare the medicine, it is enough to mix 30 ml of oil with 15 ml of tincture. After thorough mixing, it is required to lubricate the affected mucous membrane with the prepared agent using a cotton swab. It is allowed to lubricate both the oropharynx, tonsils, and nasal passages.
  2. For the preparation of pine buds, which allow you to eliminate phlegm, you will need a dried product, since the fresh one contains a high concentration of resins. 15 g of kidneys are brewed with a mug (250 ml) of milk / water. Insist for 2 hours, then filter, take 4 tablespoons three times a day.
  3. Do not forget about aloe, which helps to cope with many diseases. The recipe includes an old aloe leaf, 15 ml of honey. At the beginning, the aloe is washed, crushed until a green homogeneous mass is obtained, to which honey is added. The resulting product should be absorbed 15 ml at bedtime.
  4. Dried calendula flowers with a volume of 30 g can be mixed with 5 g of honey. The resulting mixture should be chewed without drinking water. Reception is repeated twice a day after meals. Half an hour after taking the medicine, tea is allowed.

Before going to bed, it is useful to eat 15 g of honey mixed with cranberry juice in a 1: 1 ratio. It is also recommended to dissolve solid honey at night. In addition to its anti-inflammatory properties, honey has a sedative (calming effect) that allows you to fall asleep quickly and easily.

The essence of fast and effective treatment is to correctly establish the cause of the onset of symptoms. If the provoking factor is not eliminated, all the applied therapeutic measures will not lead to complete recovery. They can only reduce the severity of symptoms.
