Throat treatment

Gargle for sore throat

The occurrence of a sore throat can be due to many reasons, both external (exogenous) and internal (endogenous) origin. Infectious agents, allergens, trauma, thyroid gland pathology, occupational hazards associated with overstrain of the vocal cords have a negative impact.

Among the exogenous factors, it is worth highlighting cold air, smoke, dust, smog. How to gargle with perspiration? The choice of medication is based on the cause of the onset of symptoms (infectious, non-infectious genesis).

Infectious diseases accompanied by a sore throat include:

  • Pharyngitis, when the inflammatory process develops after the activation of bacteria, viruses, fungi. Most often, perspiration is observed in the atrophic form of the disease, in which the mucous membrane gradually becomes thinner.
  • Angina of streptococcal origin, when perspiration worries only on the first day of the disease.
  • ARI, in which perspiration is one of the symptoms of the disease. In this case, a dry cough develops with the spread of the inflammatory process.

Discomfort in the throat can be observed due to:

  • the development of an allergic reaction in response to dust, pollen, mold;
  • actions of a professional factor with an overload of the ligamentous apparatus;
  • the progression of thyroid disease, when the glandular tissue grows, squeezing the surrounding structures;
  • esophagitis (inflammation of the esophagus) due to chemical burns;
  • traumatic injury.

Anti-perspiration medications

Modern pharmaceuticals have anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, decongestant, analgesic effects to a greater or lesser extent. In most cases, it is possible to reduce symptoms with rinsing solutions, spray, lozenges.

When coughing, the use of oral solutions is recommended, for example, Gedelix, Bronholitin, Stoptussin, Doctor Mom, Libeksin.

When coughing of allergic origin, it is necessary to prescribe antihistamines, such as Suprastin, Erius, Tavegil, as well as eliminate the allergen.

Many pharmacy solutions are used for rinsing:

  • Miramistin. Used undiluted. If it is intended to be used in children, then the drug is diluted with water (1: 1).
  • Givalex. It has antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, analgesic effect. It is widely used for sore throat. Contraindicated in children under 6 years of age. Before rinsing, dilute 10 ml of the drug in 50 water.
  • Furasol. Possesses antimicrobial action. The contents of the sachet dissolve in a glass of water. Contraindicated in children under 4 years of age.
  • Stopagnin. Differs in persistent (up to 10 hours) antimicrobial action. Allowed for undiluted rinsing (15 ml is enough for one procedure). Not prescribed for children under 6 years of age.
  • Furacilin. Available in tablet form. For preparation, you need to crush a tablet, then dissolve in 0.5 liters of hot water. Use at a temperature not exceeding 40 degrees. The solution can be stored in the refrigerator. To increase the therapeutic effect, furacilin should be diluted with 70% alcohol (1500: 1) or add 3 drops of calendula alcohol tincture.
  • Chlorophyllipt. It is especially effective against staphylococci, in the presence of a purulent component of inflammation. The solution is prepared by diluting 5 ml of the drug in a glass of water.
  • Rotokan. Due to the combined composition, the drug has an antiseptic, anti-inflammatory effect, reduces the severity of edema, reduces capillary permeability, activates local blood flow, and accelerates tissue regeneration. The solution is prepared by diluting 5 ml of the drug in a glass of water. Do not use in a child under 12 years of age.

Rinsing is carried out 5-6 times a day, that is, every 1.5-2 hours. After the procedure, it is not recommended to drink liquid or eat food for 20 minutes. This will maximize the effect of the components of the drugs used. When rinsing, it is necessary to tilt the head back, pronounce the sound "Y" in order to increase the area of contact of the mucous membrane of the oropharynx with the drug.

Folk recipes

Cough can be reduced not only with the help of pharmaceuticals, but also thanks to proven folk remedies. To achieve a therapeutic effect, it is necessary to alternate pharmacy solutions with herbal decoctions. This will help in a shorter time to eliminate pathogenic pathogens, reduce edema, and the severity of the inflammatory process.

By using several antimicrobial agents in parallel, it is possible to avoid the development of resistance in microbes.

The main advantage of folk remedies is the minimum number of adverse reactions, proven effectiveness over the years. In the treatment, decoctions, compresses, inhalations are used.

  1. Honey. To prepare a healing mixture, you must mix 10 g of semi-liquid honey, cocoa, olive oil until a homogeneous consistency is obtained. Take the mixture three times in a dessert spoon.
  2. Milk. Boil 500 ml of milk, cool, add the yolk, 15 g of cream, 10 g of liquid honey. Mix thoroughly, take 5 times 180 ml.
  3. 30 g of elecampane roots is brewed in a glass of boiling water (in a thermos). Drink 60 ml three times a day. The tool helps to reduce the viscosity of phlegm, activates its excretion.

An effective treatment is a mustard bath. Enough 2 liters of hot water, to which 30 g of dry mustard powder is added. Legs are required to be immersed in water, hold for 1 minute, wipe off the skin, wrap warmly.

Also, do not forget about inhalations:

  • With herbs (chamomile, mint, calendula), essential oils. An inhaler is required for the procedure.
  • With mucolytics (ambroxol, ventolin), alkaline water. Inhalation can reduce the viscosity of sputum, improve its discharge, and eliminate bronchospasm.
  • With potato steam. To do this, boil a few potatoes, cool it a little, then bend over the pan, cover yourself with a blanket and inhale the steam.

Hot steam can burn your upper respiratory tract, so be careful!

Compliance with the regime

An integrated approach to treatment implies adherence to the rules that are aimed at strengthening immunity, reducing the load on the vocal cords, and eliminating the impact of provoking factors. A sick person should:
