Tinnitus - Home Treatment

Many patients trust traditional medicines much more than pharmacological agents in the assortment presented on pharmacy counters. Someone explains this by reluctance to take "chemical" drugs, being sure: there is nothing better than time-tested natural recipes. Someone thinks that the price of tablets, drops and injections made in the conditions of pharmaceutical factories is overpriced. Some people, having familiarized themselves with an impressive list of side effects, are afraid of their realization - and the risk is higher, the longer the treatment lasts. Whatever the reason, you need to know if tinnitus can be treated at home and how to do it right.

Tinnitus and alternative treatments

Traditional methods of treatment are considered quite effective in the treatment of many pathologies. Patients of different age groups are treated with home recipes. Reluctance to use pharmacological drugs or adherence to natural remedies are likely reasons for deciding on home treatment.

Sometimes the reason is also the inaccessibility of qualified medical care. Is it possible to get rid of tinnitus at home? Tinnitus is one of many possible symptoms, and not an independent disease.

Ear noise of different tonality, the appearance of which is not associated with external acoustic stimuli, experts define as tinnitus.

This is a common manifestation of many diseases, so it is wrong to consider tinnitus as a separate pathology. Tinnitus is a symptom of an illness, a consequence of functional or organic changes. Understanding this forms the first and basic of the principles of treatment - both folk and with the help of pharmacological drugs - therapy should be selected according to the type of pathology, taking into account the general condition of the patient.

If tinnitus occurs, home treatment should be beneficial, not harmful. Therefore, it is worth remembering that:

  1. The patient must know the exact diagnosis.
  2. The patient should be aware of the diseases that are subject to treatment in a medical facility, without any exceptions.

Interested in how to treat tinnitus at home, you should understand: this symptom appears not only in diseases. It can also be a consequence of excessive fatigue, emotional distress. However, it is difficult to establish a diagnosis without a specialist examination (and often consultations of several doctors are required). With degenerative diseases of the cervical spine, hypertension, cerebral atherosclerosis, an integrated approach is required - both diagnostic and therapeutic. At the same time, folk remedies can be used not only as an alternative to the treatment prescribed by a doctor, but also complement it.

Precautions

When is home treatment not allowed? The causes of tinnitus and, in some cases, the head can be attributed to:

  • the development of sensorineural hearing loss, conductive, mixed type;
  • the occurrence of an inflammatory process in the departments of the outer, middle, inner ear;
  • hypertension, cerebral atherosclerosis, vertebral artery syndrome;
  • neoplasms of various localization, labyrinth syndromes of various etiologies;
  • syndrome of autonomic dysfunction, excessive physical activity, stress, etc.

Sensorineural hearing loss can develop after ARVI.

The reasons for the appearance of tinnitus are quite numerous, and they are described in detail in other articles presented on the site. It should be remembered that any forms of hearing loss, inflammatory diseases of the ear structures (otitis media), trauma (acoustic, barotrauma) are indications for consulting a doctor. Outpatient treatment is permissible only if the patient is in a satisfactory condition. Some patients do not consider tinnitus a dangerous manifestation and have been trying to cope with it on their own for a long time, which leads to a significant deterioration in hearing function. Hearing loss cannot always be cured, slowed down or corrected, therefore hearing loss requires an immediate medical examination.

It is not recommended to be treated with folk remedies for:

  1. Severe ear pain.
  2. Fever present.
  3. Intense noise, shooting noise.
  4. Severe headache.
  5. Presence of nausea, vomiting.

The presence of any symptom from the list indicates a high degree of risk and the need for qualified medical care.

Home treatment

If there is a noise in the ear, home treatment is chosen depending on the immediate cause - that is, the primary disease. However, for all pathologies manifested by tinnitus, the following recommendations are relevant:

  • getting enough sleep and rest;
  • quitting smoking, drinking alcohol;
  • performing dosed physical activity;
  • drawing up a balanced diet scheme;
  • termination of contact with noise.

Refusal to use headphones can improve the condition.

A patient suffering from tinnitus should not use vacuum-type headphones or earbuds or be exposed to loud noises. If with the help of music you can "drown out" ear noise, you should choose calm melodies, set a moderate volume.
