Washing tonsils using vacuum apparatus

Physiotherapy is one of the most effective treatments for chronic inflammation in the tonsils. Deep cleansing of the lacunae of lymphoid formations (glands) from purulent accumulations prevents the recurrence of pathology and the spread of infection. The Tonsillor apparatus is used for vacuum cleaning of palatine tonsils from pathological contents.

The use of the energy of low-frequency ultrasonic vibrations, followed by impregnation (impregnation) of the affected areas of the mucous membrane with medicinal solutions, accelerates the regression of purulent processes. Vacuum washing of the tonsils with the Tonsillor apparatus and other devices prevents the further development of inflammatory processes. Successful tonsillectomy eliminates the need for tonsillectomy (removal of the tonsils), which lowers local immunity. Taking a course of physiotherapy significantly reduces the risk of recurrence of diseases such as tonsillitis, laryngitis, pharyngitis, laryngotracheitis, etc.

Description of the apparatus "Tonsillor"

"Tonsillor" is a vacuum device, the principle of operation of which is based on the use of the energy of ultrasonic waves. Low-frequency oscillations act directly on the lymphadenoid tissues affected by inflammation, which accelerates the evacuation of purulent masses from crypts and follicles. For the subsequent impregnation of the tonsils with medicinal solutions, low-frequency phonophoresis is used - the introduction of medications into the deep layers of tissues through thin tubes.

The gland affected by inflammation is not capable of self-cleaning (drainage), which is one of the main reasons for the accumulation of detritus in it. Modern elimination of purulent accumulations and dead epithelial cells prevents tissue melting and changes in their structure. During the procedure, the contents of the tonsils are sucked out by creating a negative pressure in the device. Traditional syringing and throat gargling is not capable of providing such tangible therapeutic results as vacuum aspiration.

Operating principle

How is tonsil lavage performed with the Tonsillor apparatus? Physiotherapy treatment is usually prescribed in case of ineffectiveness of drug treatment of chronic tonsillitis. Purulent plugs in the lacunae can be quite dense, so gargling in this case is ineffective.

To restore the functions of immunocompetent organs, the procedure is performed at least 7-10 times, each of which takes no more than 10 minutes.

The process of vacuum cleaning of the tonsils is as follows:

  1. tonsils are processed with "Lidocaine" to prevent the occurrence of vomiting during the procedure;
  2. a plastic cup is fixed on the affected tonsil, which is attached to the surface of the lymphoid tissue;
  3. after turning on the device, ultrasonic vibrations stimulate the opening of gaps, as a result of which purulent formations are evacuated outside;
  4. through special tubes, the tonsils are washed with disinfecting solutions;
  5. at the final stage of the procedure, with the help of an ultrasound apparatus, medicines are injected into the foci of inflammation.

Vacuum cleansing of the tonsils is often used as an alternative to tonsillectomy, which is contraindicated in patients with diabetes mellitus, epilepsy, hypertension, etc.

Preparing for the procedure

Preliminary preparation for vacuum washing of the tonsils prevents the occurrence of a gag reflex and complications after the procedure. It is undesirable to consume food and drink an hour and a half before the start of the session. To prolong the therapeutic effect of medications injected into the foci of inflammation, you need to refrain from eating food after cleansing the tonsils for at least 2-3 hours.

Important! The use of physiotherapeutic treatment does not exclude the need to use antibacterial drugs that destroy bacteria not only in the foci of inflammation, but throughout the body.

During therapy, you should not throw your head back, as this can lead to mechanical injury to the lymphoid formations. Breathing should be shallow throughout the session. In most cases, to reduce the risk of recurrence of chronic tonsillitis, "vacuum" treatment is carried out 1-2 times a year.

Contraindications

Vacuum lavage of the tonsils has a number of relative and absolute contraindications that must be considered when choosing a suitable physiotherapy method of treatment. The absolute contraindications include open tuberculosis, cardiovascular diseases, malignant tumors in the mucous membrane of the upper respiratory tract and dysfunction of the autonomic nervous system.

It is undesirable to resort to physiotherapy treatment of infectious diseases for women during gestation and menstruation.

Exposure to low-frequency ultrasonic vibrations can cause an increase in pressure, which is fraught with increased bleeding, miscarriage or premature birth.

Important! In pregnancy and febrile fever, tonsil lavage can be done with an irrigator or a conventional syringe.

Flushing the tonsils with an irrigator

An irrigator is a mechanical device consisting of a reservoir and nozzles for supplying a medicinal solution under pressure. To flush the tonsils, special thin tubes are used, which are directed directly to the tonsils during irrigation of the oropharynx. The irrigator can be used independently, which qualitatively distinguishes it from the Tonsillor apparatus, which is used exclusively in stationary conditions by a specialist.

For more effective cleansing of the tonsils from pus, it is more advisable to purchase an irrigator with an adjustable jet pressure.

As antiseptic solutions suitable for washing lymphoid tissues, you can use:

  • Chlorophyllipt;
  • "Hydrogen peroxide";
  • Furacilin;
  • "Streptocide";
  • Rivanol.

No less effective will be the washing of the tonsils with a decoction of oak bark, medicinal chamomile, sage, eucalyptus, peppermint, etc. To achieve the desired therapeutic results, sanitizing procedures must be performed at least 4 times a day during the period of exacerbation of catarrhal processes.
