Nausea and dizziness with hypertension

Arterial hypertension signals itself with many symptoms. If a person is sick, then high blood pressure is one of the most popular causes of this manifestation. If there is still dizziness in the complex, then the prognosis is very unfavorable, since this may already indicate a hypertensive crisis, which often becomes the cause of premature death.

Causes

If a person has a history of hypertension, and nausea and vomiting appear with high blood pressure, then this can only mean one thing - medical attention is needed. If you hesitate with this, then everything can end in death. In such cases, doctors inject drugs intravenously so as not to waste time. Their effectiveness is much higher than that of pills.

Nausea is an unpleasant sensation that is a precursor to an attack of vomiting. The mechanism of occurrence of such a symptom in hypertension is complex, it affects many body systems.

Nausea is a signal of increased intracranial pressure. Because of this, the volume of blood that circulates increases, as well as cerebrospinal fluid - cerebrospinal fluid, an increase in intracranial pressure occurs. As a result of these factors, the body begins to defend itself, and in order to reduce the amount of fluid, it provokes nausea, vomiting, as well as increased sweating and frequent urination.

Another direct cause of a symptom such as nausea is impaired blood circulation in the brain. In this case, the vomiting center is affected, which is localized in the brain stem.

With a significant increase in blood pressure in a person, adrenaline is released. At the same time, the pulse is greatly increased. And it is because of this that there is an increase in the tone of the sympathetic nervous system, and then vomiting occurs.

Dizziness with high blood pressure occurs when several factors are present:

  • A sharp increase in indicators up to 200/110 mm Hg. and higher.
  • If a person already has hypertension for a long time and has not received correct treatment.
  • Dizziness manifests itself with a sharp drop in pressure downward, this often occurs with the wrong intake of antihypertensive drugs.

The main reason for dizziness is brain hypoxia. It is negatively affected by both a lack of blood circulation and its excess. Therefore, if the blood pressure (systolic) is below 70 or above 180 mm Hg. Art., then there is a violation of the functioning of the brain. At the same time, the head is very dizzy.

Hypertension, a symptom of which is nausea, can be caused by:

  • Frequent stress.
  • Regular excessive physical activity.
  • Atherosclerotic vascular disease.
  • Vascular spasm.
  • Sedentary lifestyle.
  • Obesity.
  • Bad habits.

Most often, hypertension develops with vascular spasms, which at first have a short-term nature, with them sclerotic formations appear in the walls. This makes it difficult for the blood to circulate normally.

Additional symptoms

To protect themselves from hypertension, many people ask themselves: when do the symptoms of the disease begin to appear? This is individual for each person. Some people feel nausea and dizziness even at the slightest deviations in blood pressure from the norm, while others may not feel them at all. There are times when a person just faints on the street, and then it turns out that a stroke has happened. At the same time, the patient did not feel any vivid symptoms.

With increased blood pressure and nausea, other symptoms appear, which are characteristic precisely for disturbances in the work of the cardiovascular system. By itself, nausea is unstable, it can worsen and subside. Also, along with this, a person experiences discomfort in the mouth, esophagus and stomach. People tend to attribute the first such manifestations to food poisoning.

Symptoms:

  • Headache that is localized in the occipital region.
  • Dizziness.
  • Vomit.
  • Light-headedness.
  • The person has increased sweating, salivation and frequent urge to urinate.

When an adrenaline rush occurs, the person feels anxiety and fear for his life, and a panic state develops. A breakdown occurs sharply. Swelling of the face and hands gradually begins to appear.

If such symptoms appear, you urgently need to seek help from specialists, as this can lead to a stroke, heart attack.

With an increase in blood pressure with the manifestation of nausea, the pulse pressure also rises significantly. This means that the adrenaline level rises sharply. If it is in excess, heparin breaks down. This raises blood glucose levels significantly. Also, adrenaline affects the skeletal muscles, so the lactic acid index increases.

Dizziness attacks are also called vertigo. In this case, there are always pains of blurred localization. The head is spinning with sudden changes in the body - bends, turns. Therefore, it is recommended to take a semi-sitting position.

A hypertensive crisis is recorded at a blood pressure of 200/110 mm Hg. Art. and above that. In this case, various symptoms appear due to a sharp spasm of the arterioles. Usually, nausea, dizziness, pain in the heart and increased heart rate (as a result of tachycardia), general weakness, tinnitus, pain syndrome is localized in the eyes and head.

If a patient begins to vomit profusely, then this is the first sign that irreversible changes in the brain are taking place - a stroke.

Treatment

It should be noted right away that with the manifestation of nausea and dizziness with increased pressure, one cannot expect that the condition will improve by itself. Waiting can lead to a dramatic deterioration in health.

Especially unfavorable prognosis if severe vomiting manifests itself along with nausea.

To relieve the state of health with high blood pressure with nausea and dizziness, a person must adhere to several rules:

  1. Take the necessary medications prescribed by your doctor. And if the cephalalgia intensifies, then it is necessary to take another diuretic.
  2. Control the level of blood pressure, for this you need to measure it every 30 minutes.
  3. You need to take a half-sitting position. This will ease some of the nausea and vomiting (if any), and walking will only make the symptoms worse.
  4. If at the same time there is a pronounced heart attack, then it is necessary to take the appropriate medications.

Of course, if nausea, dizziness with high blood pressure and severe pain are manifested, then we can assume that this is a hypertensive crisis. This means that you definitely need qualified medical care. The first task in the manifestation of high blood pressure with nausea is to reduce the tonometer reading.

These drugs include 3 groups:

  • Antihypertensive drugs are Captopril, Anaprilin.
  • Calcium antagonists - "Verapamin".
  • Diuretics - the most popular is Furosemide.

If the nausea is severe, accompanied by bouts of vomiting, it is recommended to take antiemetic drugs - "Cerucal". And against nausea, you can take "Motilium". It is important to remember that pill formulations are ineffective with severe vomiting. It is better to administer drugs by injection.

With an increase in blood pressure to not very high levels, you need to take antispasmodics to relieve vasospasm. These drugs include "Spazmolgon", "No-shpa", "Trigan".

With regard to antihypertensive drugs, it is important for a hypertensive crisis to take the usual drugs that were previously prescribed by the doctor. Since in this case, a sharp decrease in blood pressure is very dangerous. This can lead to heart failure. In addition, such drugs have a number of contraindications and side effects. Among them, nausea is often manifested.

When the ambulance arrives, the person must inform the medical professionals what medications he took and in what dosages in order to prevent overdose and aggravation of the condition.

There may be a situation when a person is prescribed drug therapy for arterial hypertension, and after 1 month nausea and dizziness return again. This may mean that the treatment is not appropriate. In this case, you urgently need to abandon it. If this is not done, the development of dangerous complications is inevitable.

If the blood pressure does not increase much, but there is nausea, then you can drink herbal tea with lemon and honey. This drink is great for this situation.

Dizziness with arterial hypertension is a dangerous symptom, therefore, drugs are often prescribed to eliminate it. They have an effect on the symptom itself and on the functioning of the vessels. They also often regulate the inner ear.

These drugs are Cavinton and Betaserc. These are the most popular ones. They are able to affect mental activity and eliminate asthenia. Drugs with such an effect should be prescribed exclusively by a doctor, since they have strict admission criteria. Do not exceed a dose of 1 mg. per day. This dosage should be divided into 3 doses.

Still common pills for dizziness are "Reklanium", "Seduksin", an inexpensive option - "Cinnarizin", "Flunarizin", "Dramina". But they are not always necessary, since this symptom can occur when exposed to antihypertensive drugs.

When blood pressure rises, nausea and dizziness are common symptoms. The person should take the necessary medications right away, and these medications should be prescribed by a doctor. With improper treatment, the condition will worsen and a hypertensive crisis will appear. And this, in turn, leads to serious complications - stroke, heart attack, heart failure.
