Angina

Is it possible to treat angina with alcohol

Angina is rarely an independent disease. It is often considered as a secondary symptom in cases of colds, viral, bacterial or mixed infections that have arisen. Sore throat is a common condition and is easy to get sick. It is especially often observed during the cold season. Some are treated with medicines, others are used as an alternative treatment for alcohol. Can I drink vodka and drink wine with sore throat? Is this treatment scientifically justified?

Symptoms

Angina or tonsillitis is an acute inflammation of the tonsils. The tonsils in the body play the role of a protective barrier against pathogenic infection. They not only destroy microbes at the site of their entry, but also transmit information about the pathogen to other lymphoid structures. In chronic processes in the tonsils, the protective function is reduced or completely lost.

Symptomatic angina manifests itself:

  • sore throat;
  • an increase in regional (cervical, pharyngeal) lymph nodes;
  • often an increase in body temperature;
  • redness, swelling and enlargement of the tonsils;
  • soreness when swallowing;
  • general weakness and headache.

Angina is a concomitant complication of flu or sinusitis, upper respiratory tract diseases.

Tonsillitis treatment

Treatment of the disease rarely consists of symptomatic therapy. Sometimes you cannot do without complex treatment with the use of antibacterial agents. Be especially vigilant during tonsillitis with an increase in body temperature. It is recommended to see a doctor. Thoughtless use of antibiotics will lead to rapid adaptation of microorganisms and reduce or neutralize the effect of drugs.

Comprehensive treatment includes the use of:

  • immunoprotectors (immunostimulants and a complex of vitamins and minerals);
  • antipyretics (with an increase in body temperature);
  • analgesics of local and systemic action;
  • antibacterial agents - complex (antibiotics) and topical agents (rinsing solutions).

It is always worth remembering: if you get sore throat, do not neglect traditional medicines (anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antipyretic). Traditional medicine is only effective as a complementary treatment.

The period of the fight against angina will take about three weeks, subject to the use of complex therapy.

Angina and alcohol

There is a widespread belief that if you drink alcohol with angina, you can be cured. This belief is nothing more than a myth. Apart from the deterioration of the condition, you will not achieve any therapeutic effect. Vodka 38 ° - 40 ° or more strong alcoholic drinks act on the inflamed mucous membrane of the pharynx, tonsils irritating, and without that aggravating the inflammatory process.

Alcoholic beverages do not disinfect tissues to the extent that they are attributed. Often tonsillitis occurs as a result of the action of pathogenic microflora (staphylococcus, streptococcus), which lives on the mucous membrane of the tonsils and nearby tissues. When the resistance (resistance) of the body decreases, bacteria develop and cause inflammation.

Important! Alcohol has no bactericidal effect on streptococci and staphylococci. It only reduces the local protective reaction of the mucous membrane. Therefore, from a medical point of view, it is not recommended to combine the concepts of "angina and alcohol".

The property of alcohol to some extent dilates blood vessels, leads to an increase in the permeability of the vascular wall and the development of tissue edema. Microorganisms have an excellent opportunity to spread deep into the cells and cause chronic tonsillitis, with its characteristic consequences: complications from the cardiac system, genitourinary and respiratory.

So is it possible to drink alcohol with angina? It is possible, doctors say. But not in the amount, concentration and application, as is customary to do. Vodka is used as compresses or rubdowns. Drinking a small amount of vodka is possible in dilution with water. Drink should be warm, not scalding the throat. Although drinking such a drink will most likely only have a placebo effect.

The benefits of drinking alcohol in any form (vodka, wine) are highly questionable.

Of course, drinking 20-30 grams of warm red wine with hypothermia or the first cold symptoms will not lead to critically negative consequences. But the treatment of angina in the acute period with vodka in the form of ingestion will only bring harm.

With the development of the disease in the morning you will wake up with a sore head, in a "broken" state and with a swollen throat. Alcohol increases blood flow to the inflamed area, thereby increasing infiltration (swelling) and the spread of infection.

It is recommended to drink alcohol tincture of propolis (or vodka) diluted with a small amount of water, 25 - 30 drops each as an immunomodulatory agent three times a day.

Add a teaspoon of the tincture to a glass of milk with honey, drink at night.

Drinking soothes sore throat, relieves perspiration. Possible complications after drinking vodka with angina:

  • hypertension (increased blood pressure);
  • decreased immune status;
  • local reaction of the pharyngeal mucosa;
  • general intoxication of the body.

Can I drink vodka with sore throat? Doctors are unanimous in their answer: by using vodka, you will not only fail to cure the disease, but also contribute to the development of complications.

Important! All of the above products, containing some part of the alcoholic component, create the appearance of a therapeutic effect or do not have it at all (the exception is the use of propolis).

Wine for sore throat

Medicine is more loyal to the question of whether it is possible to drink wine with angina. This ratio is due to the presence in the wine of some vitamins (group B and vitamin C), minerals, flavonoids, pectin and tannins. Wine is used in the treatment of colds.

Doctors even recommend drinking a glass of warm (not hot) red wine for angina (diluted with water) with the addition of honey at night and immediately go to bed. Wine will allow the body to relax, warm up and sleep. Warm wine should be drunk in small sips. Half an hour before that, drink a glass - two teas. Wine has diaphoretic properties, and the loss of fluids during illness should not lead the body to dehydration. If the immune system is normal, then it may be possible to avoid the development of the inflammatory process.

But it should be borne in mind: you should drink wine only when the first signs of a cold and sore throat appear. In acute tonsillitis, wine should not be drunk.

This will aggravate your sore throat and make you feel worse. Use herbal teas and fruit drinks as a drink. It is undesirable to drink wine for hypertension, headaches, kidney and liver problems.

With angina with an increase in body temperature, it is advisable not to consume alcohol in any form. Drinking red wine with angina is only after reducing the inflammatory process during the rehabilitation period to strengthen the immune system and increase hemoglobin. Thus, the answer to the question of whether it is possible to drink alcohol with angina is obvious. Doctors say: the use of alcoholic beverages in the treatment of angina is unsafe! The body is already working in an enhanced mode. And drinking vodka puts additional stress on the heart, liver and kidneys. The use of alcohol leads to an increase in the general intoxication of the body.
