Angina

Lemon treatment for angina in adults

Angina is a serious infectious disease that requires a serious approach to therapy. Independent non-professional treatment can lead to serious complications that threaten the patient's life. Still, acute tonsillitis has always been treated with folk remedies, in addition to traditional drugs. Traditional methods are not independent therapy, but they significantly speed up the healing process. An indispensable unconventional remedy for angina in adults is lemon.

What is lemon good for?

The golden fruit is rich in B vitamins, vitamin A, ascorbic acid, magnesium, potassium, flavonoids, phytoncides. Among citrus fruits, lemon is the leader in the content of vitamin C (88%), which is so necessary for a speedy recovery.

Citrus contains only 29 calories and 2.5% sugar, so it can be eaten by people with diabetes, unlike, for example, sweet oranges.

  • thanks to the acids and phytoncides contained in citrus, when consumed in food, an extremely unfavorable environment for the reproduction of pathogens is created;
  • lemon with angina normalizes the temperature;
  • increases local and general immunity;
  • strengthens blood vessels; has a beneficial effect on the heart, which has a heavy load with angina;
  • strengthens and tones the body;
  • improves appetite, which is significantly reduced in acute tonsillitis;
  • reduces inflammation, swelling, redness, soreness.

Lemon, properly used for angina in adults, is useful, since the phytoncides contained in the fruit in large quantities actively fight against pathogenic microbes

Who shouldn't eat lemon:

  • children under five;
  • with care, citrus should be eaten by pregnant women;
  • people suffering from gastric ulcer and / or duodenal ulcer;
  • with reflux esophagitis and increased acidity of gastric juice;
  • with colitis in the acute stage; when treated with antidepressants.

How to use?

Fresh lemon with sore throat can be eaten only in the initial phase of the disease or when acute symptoms subside, that is, after 3-4 days from the onset of the disease. The first signs of developing acute tonsillitis: malaise, weakness, loss of strength, slight feeling of constriction in the throat, slight perspiration. It is at this moment that you can eat fresh citrus.

It should be noted that the symptoms of acute tonsillitis are growing rapidly, literally in a matter of hours. So there will be very little time to strengthen your immunity with citrus fruits. Why shouldn't lemon be used for sore throat in the acute phase of the disease? The mucous membrane of the pharynx in the acute stage of the disease is too vulnerable to irritants. Tonsils and mucous membranes are edematous, hyperemic, excessively painful. The acid contained in citrus will irritate the pharynx at this stage of the disease, provoke a cough, and dry the mucous membrane. Lemon can be eaten in small pieces along with the zest, drink juice in half with water, gargle with a lemon solution, do inhalations and aroma procedures.

Recipes

  1. At the very beginning of the disease, while there are no pronounced symptoms, you can eat half of the fruit along with the peel. If it is unpleasant to eat pure lemon, then you can sprinkle it with sugar or honey. After that, do not eat or drink anything for an hour. After 3 hours, eat the other half of the fruit. Lemon in this form is the first remedy for tonsillitis.
  2. Cut the fruit into small pieces, chew, hold in your mouth until the juice comes out completely, and swallow. Consume the whole fruit during the day, at intervals of 3 hours. Rinse your mouth with water half an hour after each procedure.
  3. Mix lemon juice with honey 1: 2, periodically lubricate the tonsils with this composition with a cotton swab. Make sure there is no irritation. If irritation appears, then the amount of juice should be reduced. Put the same remedy in your mouth half a teaspoon until dissolved. In this case, the medicine will act as an antiseptic.
  4. Dissolve 2 tablespoons of lemon juice in 100 ml of warm water, gargle up to six times a day.
  5. Mix juice and water 1: 3, boil for a minute, take a teaspoon 4 times a day. This remedy has a general strengthening effect, so it is useful to take it after recovery.
  6. Brew chamomile tea, add a slice of lemon and a teaspoon of honey to the glass. Drink warm three times a day.
  7. Squeeze the juice from the peel of the fruit into a tablespoon of water, use in an aroma lamp. This tool has a positive effect not only on the nasopharynx, but also cleans the air in the room from bacteria and viruses.
  8. Boil citrus along with anti-inflammatory herbs (chamomile, calendula, sage, St. John's wort), inhale over steam if the body temperature is normal and there is no pus on the tonsils.

Citrus cannot be replaced with citric acid. Industrial acid does not have the properties of fresh fruit

Lemon is used for angina not only as a medicine, but also as a prophylactic agent. Grate citrus, mix one half with sugar, the other with honey. In the season of infections, take a tablespoon of the product with sugar every morning, with honey - every evening.
