The product contains archidonic acid. This is a fairly rare component that cannot be found in other products. It normalizes cholesterol metabolism and is responsible for the production of hormones, as it stimulates the adrenal glands. Lard is also rich in such useful elements:

  • vitamins A, K, E and D;
  • sodium;
  • potassium;

  • iodine.

Cough help

First of all, it is worth using pork fat for cough treatment because of its warming properties. The product is able to retain heat for a very long time, it stimulates blood flow, therefore it is useful for both internal and external use. When melted, it does not oxidize and does not lose its qualities, like plant counterparts. Healing ointments, potions and syrups can be prepared from it.

When used orally, pork fat coats the mucous membranes, relieves irritation and promotes the regeneration of damaged tissues. Compresses and rubbing warm up the skin and internal organs well. The remedy stimulates expectoration and helps to quickly cure dry coughs.

High energy value makes the product simply irreplaceable in case of depletion of the body. There are as many as 900 kilocalories per 100 g of fat. Fat will give strength for recovery, help fill the lack of nutrients that occurs against the background of loss of appetite.

Product types

There are 4 types of pork fat:

  • Extra and superior - they are best suited for the preparation of products that are taken orally. The finished product has a creamy consistency, when melted it is transparent, the aroma is light and unobtrusive, the taste is sweet.
  • 1st and 2nd grade are made from raw lard. At room temperature, finished products have a hard consistency, white or slightly yellow color. During melting, they can be cloudy, have a specific smell of fried bacon. They are more suitable for compresses and rubbing.

The product must be obtained from the carcass of a healthy animal, therefore, it is best to purchase lard from trusted suppliers. Most of the useful substances are contained in the interior fat, the one that is cut not from the subcutaneous layer, but from the internal organs. The finished product does not allow admixtures of blood and other foreign components.
