Effective folk remedies for loss of voice

The vocal cords are extremely sensitive to external irritants. Sometimes a person does not even notice at what point his voice disappeared. Many patients do not know how to get rid of this problem. As a rule, loss of voice (aphonia) is triggered by laryngitis, an inflammation of the larynx mucosa. Quite often, it affects the vocal cords, which lose mobility and stop vibrating normally. To cure such a pathology, we advise using special medications, as well as folk remedies for loss of voice.

Why is my voice missing?

As mentioned above, aphonia is usually associated with laryngitis. Inflammatory processes in the larynx are caused by bacterial agents. They settle on the mucous membrane, begin to multiply actively, creating an extensive pathogenic focus. It is not uncommon for microbes to enter the trachea. Concomitant symptoms of laryngitis are sore throat, severe coughing attacks and general weakness (as a result of intoxication of the body with the waste products of bacteria).

Gradually, the vocal cords enter the zone of influence of the pathogenic microflora. They swell, become hyperemic and stop forming the voice. As the swelling increases, gradual changes in the vocal timbre occur. When talking with a patient, you can notice uncharacteristic hoarseness and hoarseness, then the voice disappears altogether.

A little less often, a lost voice is a consequence of hypothermia, as well as colds and infectious diseases, in particular - tonsillitis. In principle, any ailment affecting the laryngeal mucosa can cause a violation of the timbre of the voice or its complete disappearance. In some cases, a short-term disappearance of the voice is diagnosed - the result of communication in raised tones, shouting or singing.

Chronic laryngitis most often affects professional singers, vocal teachers and presenters, who are forced to talk a lot. In young children, loss of voice occurs against the background of sore throat, and severe coughing attacks also contribute to this.

Drug treatment

In case of loss of voice caused by laryngitis, the first step is to relieve a sore throat. It is this that causes coughing attacks, which further irritate the vocal cords. We recommend using expectorant medications:

  • "Bronchicum";
  • "Bromhexin";
  • "Codelacom" and so on.

They contribute to the transformation of a dry, unproductive cough into a wet, that is, productive. As a useful supplement, suck tablet formulations should be taken to soften the throat and eliminate sore throat. In addition, do not forget about the "heavy artillery" - antiviral drugs:

  • Anaferone;
  • "Rementadine";
  • "Arbidole";
  • Cycloferone;
  • "Amizone";
  • Aflubine.

Eliminate severe swelling of the mucous membrane of the larynx will help "Miramistin". This medicine is used for regular gargling (about 3 times a day). It not only removes puffiness, but disinfects the mucous membrane.

Remember homeopathic remedies. We advise you to include them in your complex treatment. "Givalex" has proven itself excellently, contributing to a significant acceleration of the regeneration of damaged vocal cords. Another homeopathic remedy "Gomeovoks" - lozenges, designed to combat laryngitis.

Inhalation is of great importance for effective therapy. According to experts, in this case it is better to abandon hot steam inhalations and give preference to procedures using nebulizers. This is a more gentle option that will help restore the voice in both children and adults. The active substances of preparations for nebulizers gently disinfect the mucous membrane and destroy pathogenic microflora.
