Throat treatment

Throat treatment with kerosene

Sore throat can be caused by a variety of viruses and bacteria. Pathogenic microorganisms cause not only pain in the nasopharynx, they also contribute to the onset of symptoms such as fever, runny nose, general malaise, etc. To relieve symptoms and treat infection, not only traditional methods are used. At home, decoctions of medicinal herbs, solutions of soda, iodine, propolis tincture are used for this purpose. And also - such unconventional methods as treatment with kerosene, beer or wine.

Features of the substance

Official medicine is wary of the use of kerosene for throat diseases. First you need to understand what this substance is, and why it is used in traditional medicine. Kerosene is a product of oil refining, harmful and toxic to humans. An overdose of kerosene is extremely dangerous, because then convulsions can develop, which often lead to coma and even death. However, despite the danger of this remedy, it is successfully used in alternative medicine in the complex treatment of diseases.

The thing is that kerosene has a number of useful properties. It can provide:

  • disinfecting effect, while deeply penetrating into the affected tissues of the nasopharyngeal mucosa;
  • anti-inflammatory effect;
  • detrimental effect on pathogenic microorganisms;
  • anesthesia;
  • cleansing the mucous throat from bacterial plaque.

Due to these properties, kerosene is used in the treatment of purulent tonsillitis, stomatitis and other diseases accompanied by an acute inflammatory process.

Adherents of its use for the treatment of ENT diseases, argue that the procedures for gargling and smearing the throat with kerosene have a positive effect and effectively eliminate the symptoms of the disease without harming the human body.

Treatment methods

Before you treat your throat with kerosene, you must first clean it of harmful impurities. There are several effective ways.

  • For cleaning, take hot water and kerosene in a one-to-one ratio. Pour into a container that can be tightly closed with a lid and shake quickly. From time to time it is necessary to open the container and release excess gases formed during shaking. A well-mixed liquid must be left alone for a while until a sediment from impurities forms at the bottom. The supernatant is poured into a clean container and used in medical procedures.It is better to carry out the cleaning procedure outdoors or to avoid poisoning with harmful vapors.
  • If you need to get a more purified solution of kerosene, then after the manipulations given above, salt is added to the filtered solution, at the rate of one part of salt for two parts of liquid. Shake again and leave for 24 hours. After that, the solution is filtered using a charcoal filter, defended again and the supernatant is poured into a clean container.
  • The procedure for cleaning kerosene must be carried out before using the agent for the treatment of diseases.
  • What are the ways to treat the throat with kerosene:
  • An aqueous solution of kerosene with soda is used to treat diseases of the nasopharynx. So it is necessary to smear the throat with the resulting mixture three times a day. If you are hypersensitive to this agent, you can add a few drops of vegetable oil to the solution.
  • For gargling, I use the following recipe - 25 drops of kerosene are taken for 200 ml of water. The shallow rinse procedure is carried out for thirty seconds three times a day.

Important! It is strictly forbidden to take a solution of kerosene inside due to possible severe complications on the liver. The course of treatment using kerosene should not exceed a week.

If you are an adherent of traditional methods of treating the throat, then along with kerosene, you can try using safer means, like calendula tincture, propolis, apple cider vinegar, soda, etc.

Contraindications

Throat treatment with kerosene should be carried out with caution, taking into account the individual characteristics of the organism and the recipe. In acute angina, when there is an aggravation of the patient's condition, the use of kerosene is contraindicated. Indeed, in this case, alternative medicine methods are not enough to cope with the infection.

Also, the use of kerosene solutions to lubricate the throat or gargle can further irritate the nasopharyngeal mucosa and lead to burns.

So, the use of kerosene in the treatment of throat is contraindicated in:

  • liver or kidney disease;
  • general allergization of the body or hypersensitivity to this substance;
  • bleeding tendency;
  • the presence of anemia or tumor processes.

Important! Stop rinsing with kerosene if you experience irritation, dryness, or other unpleasant symptoms after the procedure.

Before using kerosene for the throat, it is necessary to check the body for individual intolerance to this substance. To do this, apply the substance to a small area of skin on the surface of the hand and wait for the reaction to manifest. If kerosene has caused itching or redness, then you cannot use it to treat the throat.

Kerosene in the therapy of children and pregnant women

It should be understood that each human body is individual, therefore, it tolerates the use of all kinds of substances in different ways. So, even in some adults, kerosene causes negative reactions, let alone babies. Therefore, it is highly undesirable to use it in the treatment of throat in children! After all, their body is more sensitive and can immediately respond to an aggressive substance. In addition, children often cannot explain their condition and express complaints.

Similarly with the situation with children, the situation is with pregnant and lactating women. They need to protect themselves as much as possible from contact with such ambiguous substances.

Do you still doubt whether a kerosene treatment is necessary? Do not know if it is possible to smear it on the throat, and what are the consequences? Weigh well the pros and cons, assess the expected benefits and possible risks. Better yet, check with your doctor.
