Should I take a contrast shower with VSD?

Vegetovascular dystonia is not an independent nosological unit, but its symptoms are observed in almost 80 percent of people from the age of twenty. This is a whole group of active complaints, poorly responding to drug treatment, temporarily limiting the patient's ability to work. It is recommended to change the way of life, adherence to the regime of work, sleep, rest, the introduction of water procedures and rational physical activity.

How does a contrast shower affect the human body?

A contrast shower is an alternation of water of different temperatures in one hygiene session. Cold water itself causes stress, which leads to increased production of adrenaline. The procedure has a negative effect on people with anemia, cardiovascular disease (CVD) and malaria.

Hot water destroys vitamin C, which reduces the body's immune reactivity. But in a complex of different temperature regimes, the event has a powerful healing effect.

The procedure has the following positive properties:

  • general strengthening;
  • toning;
  • relaxation;
  • rejuvenation;
  • tissue regeneration;
  • activation of structures and systems of organs.

It is recommended to carry out the procedure at any time of the day, except for the first hour after waking up and two hours before bedtime. You should start with warm water, under which you need to warm up well for at least five minutes. Then turn on the cool mode for sixty seconds.

After three switchings, always complete the shower with cold water. With a feeling of chilliness, the appearance of chills, it is permissible to use a warm one. The course is no more than a month. After a half-month (15 days) break, it can be repeated.

The positive effect of a contrast shower for people with VSD:

  • strengthens blood vessels;
  • activates the central nervous system;
  • enhances immunity;
  • enhances the production of collagen and elastin in the skin;
  • reduces subcutaneous fat deposits.

Despite the proven benefits of a contrast shower, you should consult your doctor before using it, and not rely solely on other people's feedback.

Contraindications to the procedure:

  • malignant neoplasms;
  • During pregnancy and breastfeeding;
  • violation of the integrity and infection of the skin;
  • menstruation;
  • high temperature;
  • CVD;
  • inflammatory processes;
  • diseases of the hematopoietic system;
  • acute cerebrovascular accident (stroke, stroke);
  • thrombophlebitis;
  • the presence of benign tumors of the female genital organs;
  • diseases of respiratory viral origin.

How does the procedure have the effect of VSD?

Vegetovascular dystonia is a complex functional disorder that is caused by a change in the regulation of the vascular tone of the autonomic nervous system (ANS).

Pathology is characterized by:

  • an increase in heart rate (HR);
  • neurotic conditions;
  • headaches;
  • tinnitus;
  • fainting;
  • weakness;
  • cold extremities;
  • lability of blood pressure;
  • shortness of breath.

As a result of an imbalance of the sympathetic and parasympathetic systems, oxygen supply to tissues decreases, immunity and metabolism are impaired.

Among doctors, there is an opinion that the symptoms of VSD can be dealt with without treatment, only by normalizing the mode of work and rest, performing feasible physical activity.

A contrast shower for vegetative-vascular dystonia should be introduced into routine procedures. The difference between cold and hot water has a firming effect on the vessels, alternately expanding and narrowing them.

Also, its benefit in VSD is due to:

  • cardiac muscle training and hemodynamic activation;
  • pressure stabilization;
  • prevention of stress;
  • normalization of breathing.

Patients need to learn how to properly take a contrast shower with VSD:

  • with low blood pressure (hypotonic variant of the disease), the lower temperature limit should be in the range of 26-30 ° C to prevent vasospasm;
  • with a hypertensive form of dystonia (especially with cardiac manifestations), first, cold water is poured over the face, and then the whole body;
  • in the case of concomitant osteochondrosis, it is necessary to treat the cervical area with water in order to accelerate the blood flow.

The temperature difference is achieved in stages. The maximum is administered no earlier than two weeks after the start of the procedure. It is forbidden to shower immediately after strenuous physical work or intense sports.

Conclusions

Timely therapy of VSD in the vast majority of episodes leads to the disappearance or significant minimization of a number of manifestations. In turn, the regular use of a contrast shower for vegetative-vascular dystonia in combination with other principles of a healthy lifestyle helps to restore the body's adaptive capabilities. An uncorrectable course of pathology provokes a variety of psychosomatic disorders, adversely affects the patient's condition and the quality of his life.
