Cough

Cough is treated by rubbing with vodka

Vodka is one of the widely used remedies in folk medicine for the treatment of coughs and colds in general. There are recommendations for using it internally without additives or with additives (honey, pepper, mint, lemon or aloe). In addition, there are recipes for vodka compresses and rubbing.

More benefits, of course, are with outdoor methods. They have much fewer contraindications. They can be used safely for children. These methods help turn a dry cough into a more productive wet cough. Thus, recovery is faster. The most important thing is to follow all the rules for the rubbing procedure and be sure to take into account the presence of contraindications.

How vodka rubbing works

Rubbing is done for the purpose of warming up. This method is most effective at the first symptoms of a cold - for example, a mild cough. If the disease has already cleared up, it can be used in combination with other means.

When the body is rubbed with vodka, general blood circulation is stimulated, the immune system is strengthened, and coughing is ensured. Such a procedure can stop the further development of the disease.

It is important to remember that most medical practitioners consider vodka rubbing to warm up as unacceptable. They warn against the occurrence of possible adverse effects. At the same time, some adherents of traditional methods of treatment are convinced that rubbing cannot raise the temperature in the bronchi and lungs.

How to do the procedure correctly

  1. In order to lower the temperature and in addition to get rid of the cough, you only need a napkin (towel) and vodka. Soak a cloth or towel in vodka, squeeze well and wipe your body very gently. Pay special attention to the chest area. You will need a little alcoholic drink for this. In the process of evaporation of alcohol from the skin surface, it cools. As a result, the body temperature returns to normal, and the cough softens.
  2. If the temperature is high, do not rub too vigorously. Otherwise, there is a risk of its increase.
  3. Pepper vodka is used not only for internal intake, but also for rubbing. True, only if there is no high temperature. After completing the procedure, cover with a woolen blanket. If you have an individual intolerance to red hot pepper, you can replace this ingredient with crushed garlic. Such a mixture should be infused for at least one night before use.
  4. To grind a sick person with vodka, it is necessary that he takes a position lying on his back. Soak a linen napkin in vodka or a potion prepared on its basis. Lightly rub the body with it (the groin and heart area should not be touched). After completing the procedure, cover the sick person with something warm. It will take at least a couple of hours to lie down and warm up. It is logical that rubbing is best in the evening, before going to bed. This is especially true for children.
  5. Since the alcohol contained in the vodka dries the skin, it is advisable to moisturize the treated area after the end of the procedure. For this, you can use a suitable cream or special oil.
